Mine’d is a project originated by Aaron Albert and Mark Groves, that emerged thanks to the way they met. Aaron, recently out of a relationship, was seeking for support to face the situation, which led him to Mark, a relationship expert.

Introduction

People have less time and financial resources to afford weekly therapy sessions.
An opportunity was identified to provide an accessible tool that can help motivate and upgrade people’s mental health.

Challenges

During the process

The development was executed applying SCRUM methodology, using 2 week sprints. Back in the beginning, we decided to use React Native as framework in the Front End in order to build a native app for iOS and Android. The biggest challenge of this decision was being able to develop, simultaneously, an app that worked correctly for both operative systems. As each of them has their own particularities, doing the right QA was key to identifying any differences between them in order to guarantee a smooth functioning.

Another big challenge was the fact that we were working on 2 different apps at the same time: one for the experts, allowing them to offer their live sessions, and another one for the minders, allowing them to participate in these and to be part of the community. To achieve this, it was fundamental to maintain a fluid communication with the client to understand the project requirements, keeping them updated and aligning their expectations to our team’s capacity and deliverables.

The proposal

Using Design Sprint methodology we worked on building a prototype focused on our users needs and wishes.

Profile: User between 25 and 35 years old.

  • Main frustration: He or she does not have the time or financial resources to attend weekly therapy sessions.
  • Characteristics: Our user likes to publish and share quotes on Instagram about inspiring topics. Exercises regularly and considers health an important issue.

Process

01. Work hypothesis

Through the Business Model Canvas, the initial hypotheses were raised.

02. Design and prototyping

Once the working hypotheses were validated through a focus group, a prototype was designed.

03. Validation

The prototype was validated through interviews with potential users.

04. Development

We developed a product aligned with our users and their specific identified needs.

Hipótesis de trabajo

  • Refinamiento en base a los resultados obtenidos
